David Solomon is an American investment banker and record producer who was recently named as the CEO of Goldman Sachs. He is replacing Lloyd Blankfein and will be working as a CEO on October 1, 2018. As of 2018 David Solomon net worth is estimated to be more than $580 million.
David was born on 1962 in New York. His father Alan Solomon was an executive vice president of small publishing company while his mother Sandra worked as an audiology supervisor. He went to Hamilton College in New York and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government.
Solomon started his career working for Drexel Burnham and Irving Trust in 1986. In late 1990s, he worked with variety of Goldman Sachs manager. Working with them inspired him to move the firm in 1999 to work with leveraged finance team as a partner.
In 2016, David Solomon was chosen as the co-chief operating officer along with Harvey Schwartz after Gary Cohn resigned from the Goldman Sachs to become the Chief Economic Advisor to Donald Trump. On July 17, 2018 he was named the CEO of Goldman Sachs replacing Lloyd Blankfein. He will be working as a CEO from October 1, 2018.
Apart from that, David is also a DJ. He performs monthly gigs as a disc jockey under the stage name DJ D-Sol. He has performed at several music festivals around New York, Miami and the Bahamas.
