Robinson was born on December 8, 1967 in New Jersey. She rose to fame in the mid 199s with the Italian group “Livin’ Joy” but she later embarked her career as a solo. Livin’ Joy was an Italian group who released two successful songs like Dreamer and Don’t Stop Movin.
The group was fronted by lead singer Janice Robinson and consisted of other members like Paolo Visnadi, Gianni Visnadi and Tameka Starr. Dreamer was one of the hit single of the group. It reached No. 1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play Chart and entered the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995. It peaked at No. 72 and spent 17 weeks on the chart. The song was most successful in the Europe where it peaked No. 18 and spend 6 straight weeks in the UK top 100. The single re-entered the U.S. Hot 100 chart once again this time peaking at No. 95 in mid 1996.
In 1996, Janice had left the group and was replaced by Tameka Starr. Don’t Stop Movin was the band second hit after it topped the Italian charts and peaked at No. 3 on the U.S. Dance chart in early 1997.

It was more of a pop styled album and consisted of hit single “Nothing I Would Change”. She then gave her hit single “Earthbeat” in 1998. Recently, she came to The X Factor UK as a contestant surprising the judge panel including Simon Cowell where she performed her famous song “Dreamer”. She also revealed that she was the main songwriter and vocalist behind the famous dance track Dreamer.
