Marko Djokovic is a tennis professional from Serbia. He is the middle child of Dijana and Srdan Djokovic, the elder brother of Djordje Djokovic, and the younger brother of Novak. In a matchup versus Croatia in the 2010 Davis Cup quarterfinals, Djokovic was added as the fifth player.

Career 

In September 2006, Djokovic made an appearance in the junior ITF tournament. He lost to Pablo Andjar in the first round of qualification for the Croatia Open Umag in July 2007 and was thus unable to advance to the tournament. In his career, he also competed in one doubles match with his older brother Novak, losing to Édouard Roger-Vasselin and Mathieu Montcourt 7-5, 6-1. Additionally, Saa Stojisavljevi defeated Djokovic twice in the first round of Novi Sad Futures events. In 2008, he competed in the Australian Open juniors, but Clifford Marsland defeated him in the opening round in three sets. Djokovic defeated Ljubomir “elebi” in the championship match of the Montenegro Open in Podgorica to claim his first junior championship. Djokovic was given a wildcard entrance into the Croatia Open Umag qualifying rounds in July 2008, however Italian Francesco Piccari defeated him.

He was given a wildcard admission into the Thailand Open’s main draw in September 2008, his first-ever main ATP Tour event.   In the opening round, Jarkko Nieminen defeated him 6-2, 6-0. In the first round of the Serbia Open, an ATP World Tour 250 competition, on May 7, 2009, Djokovic and Darko Maarovski (as a wildcard pair) upset ATP doubles world number 2 team Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonji by a score of 7-6, 2-6, 10-6. It was Marko’s first ATP victory ever. The Tennis Federation of Serbia and Davis Cup captain Bogdan Obradovi routinely invite a different talented young players to practice with regular players and gain necessary experience before each tie, and he was included as a fifth player in the Serbian Davis Cup team for their quarterfinal Davis Cup match against Croatia in 2010. Djokovic received a wildcard into the 2012 Dubai Duty Free tournament and lost against Kazakhstan’s Andrei Golubev in the opening match of the ATP World Tour 500 event in straight sets. Marko quit playing tennis in 2015, according to his older brother Novak, but he has recently been playing again in ATP Challenger Tour qualifying events since 2017, and he successfully completed this stage in the 2018 Copa Sevilla. Djokovic’s 2019 season-opening change in ATP ranking points drove him to a career-high position of No. 574.

But he didn’t forget to enjoy an entertaining mini-tennis match in front of his middle brother Marko Djokovic, a 28-year-old Serbian professional and the middle of the three children of Dijana & Srđan Djokovic.

In his remarks, Marko Djokovic discussed Novak’s determination and how he evolved over time. Marko claims that Novak’s love of helping people is what drives him most.

He is aware that his level of achievement affects his ability to assist others. He, therefore, desires to continue winning. Novak experienced a difficult life when he was younger and didn’t have any money.

He now helps those in need with the money he earns. Due to the war and other events, it was not the ideal time to play tennis in Serbia. The family stayed quite close-knit. They put a lot of effort into getting the brothers out of all of this, the war, and other issues. Marko has fond memories of his younger years. My father deserves credit,’ he remarked. When asked if he ever considered being the kind of player he is now, Marko responded, “I can tell you the truth. I’ve been with him for a long time, but from the time I was 14 until I was 17, I was unable to go with him when he started traveling to play. I’m not sure how to put it, but Novak has always had something unique inside as well. He is where he is because of this. It was typical for me. Perhaps others were startled, but it seemed obvious to me that he would have succeeded. Novak often expressed his desire. and succeeded. He played three years later in Madrid and yelled at the audience during the match against Milos Raonic, much like he did in 2013 when he lost to Dimitrov.
