Nadiya Hussain is an English TV Chef, author and Television presenter best known for winning the sixth series of famous show “The Great British Bake Off” in 2015. As of 2018, Nadiya Hussain net worth is estimated to be £2.33 million.
Nadiya was born on December 25, 1984 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Her father is of Bangladeshi descent who was also a chef and owned an Indian restaurant. She went to Challney High School and then Luton Sixth Form College. Nadiya learned basic cooking skills when she was at school. She learned to cook professionally by reading recipe books and watching videos on YouTube.
Nadiya Hussain rose to fame in 2015 after she appeared and won the sixth series of “The Great British Bake Off”. The final show was watched by more than 15 million viewers. She was favorite to win the show and was even backed by then Prime Minister David Cameron.
After winning the show, her career moved in an upward slope. She signed contract with the BBC to host the documentary “The Chronicles of Nadiya”, TV cookery series “Nadiya’s British Food Adventure” and “Nadiya’s Family Favorites”. In-addition to that, she also became judge on the show “Junior Bake off”.
Her show “The Chronicles of Nadiya” was nominated for 2107 National Television Awards and she was also nominated for Breakthrough star of 2017 in the Royal Television Society Award. She is also a guest presenter on the show “Loose Women”. In that show, she revealed that she was given the honour of baking Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday cake.
Hussain is also a contributing editor to BBC’s Good Food. She also writes a weekly column for the Times Magazine. Her recipes have been featured in BBC’s Good Food magazine, Fabulous magazine, The Guardian and The Telegraph.
In 2017, she was named by Debrett’s as one of the 500 most influential people in UK and was on BBC News’ 100 Women list. Her book “Bake Me a Story” was shortlisted for Children’s Book of the Year prize at the British Book Awards.
Regarding her personal life, she married Abdal Hussain at the age of 19. Together they have two sons and a daughter.
