Nicole Maines is an American actress and transgender activist who has recently made history as the first transgender superhero in television series.
Nicole was born on October 7, 1997 in New York. Nicole and her twin brother Jonas were adopted at birth to Kelly and Wayne Maines. She went to Orono Middle School followed by Waynflete School. She then did her higher education from Arcadia University. She also went to University of Maine but dropped later to start her career in acting.
Maines started her acting career in 2015 appearing in an episode of drama series “Royal Pain”. In 2016 she appeared in an HBO documentary titled “The Trans List”. Apart from that, Nicole and her family were featured in a book titled “Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family”.
Recently, it was announced that Nicole would appear in a lead role as Nia Nal/Dream Girl in fourth season of The CW series “Supergirl”.
