Syd Little is an English comedian best known for being one half of the comedy duo “Little and Large” with Eddie large. As of 2018, Syd Little net worth is estimated to be $5 million.
Syd was born on December 19, 1942 in Blackpool, Lancashire and grew up in Manchester. He attended Yew Tree Secondary Modern School. He then began working as an interior decorator. He was also a singer and guitarist in pubs in Manchester before he met Eddie Large.
After meeting Eddie Large, the duo started out as Cyril Mead and Friend and then became Mead and McGinnis. Finally, they settled on Little and Large. The comedy duo formed their partnership in 1962 and their big break came in 1971 when they appeared on ITV talent show “Opportunity Knocks”. They went on to win the show and with that fame, they opened their show called “The Little and Large Tellyshow” which was later called “The Little and Large Show”.
Eddie Large was known to be the funny guy while Syd was more the serious ‘straight guy’. Large performed a number of impressions, particularly cartoon characters while Little simply stood next to him looking perplexed and distressed.
The duo had a very successful television career spanning 20 years. Their TV show was opened in 1977 and lasted 14 years ending in 1991. After the show got cancelled, Little did not appear much. He was featured in the reality television show “Trust Me I’m a Holiday Rep”. In 2015, he also took part in Celebrity Masterchef and made it to the third round.
