Silver who was born on April 25, 1962 in New York attended Rye High school and then earned law degree from University of Chicago in 1988. He started his career working at a law firm like Cravath, Sawine & Moore in New York.
Adam then served as NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating officer for eight years. On October 25, 2012 Adam was announced the new commissioner of the National Basketball association following the resignation of David Stern.
