Natasha was born on September 9, 1972 in Brighton, England. Her father Raphael Kaplinsky was a professor of International development at the Open University while her mother Catherine Kaplinsky was a psychotherapist. Natasha went to Ringmer Community College and then to Varndean College in Brighton. She graduated with a degree in English from Hertford College.
Natasha’s first job was to work in the press offices of Labour leaders like Neil Kinnock and John Smith. In 1996, she then started presenting a youth chat show “F2F” and three years later she moved to ITV’s London News Network where she hosted “London Today” and “London Tonight” show. In 2000, she then moved to Sky News where she co-presented “Live at Five” and also a news program “Sunrise”.
In 2002, she joined BBC and presented show “BBC Breakfast”. Four years late, she hosted BBC’s “Ten O’Clock News” making her the only third woman to present the show. On October of 2007, she decided to leave the BBC to become a presenter on Five News. Her salary massively rose from £175,000 to £750,000 per year.
Kaplinsky then presented her new show titled “Five News with Natasha Kaplinsky” for three years at Five News. On October of 2010, after working with the network for three years, she decided to leave her job having spent most of her time at the network on a maternity leave.
Apart from news reporting, she has done several television appearances on television shows like My Hero, Making Your Mind Up, Have I Got News for You, Torchwood, That Sunday Night Show and many more. She also participated in the dancing competition “Strictly Come Dancing” and went on to win the competition with her partner Brendan Cole.
Regarding her personal life, she is married to Justin Bower. They got married on 2005 and together they have two children named Arlo Bower who was born on 2005 and Angelica Pearl Bower who was born on 2010.
